The World Championship Scotch Pie Awards 2017 came to a climax today as Brownings the Bakers of Kilmarnock were announced as the 18th winner of the competition making them THE WORLD SCOTCH PIE CHAMPION OF 2017.
The Rt Honourable Donald Wilson, Lord Provost of the City of Edinburgh, performed his pie duties perfectly in Dunfermline today as he helped to assess the appearance, quality, consistency and taste of 500 of the best pies in the land supplied by 100 bakers and butchers as judging day commenced for the 18th World Championship Scotch Pie Awards.
The World Championship Scotch Pie Awards can claim a first this year with the arrival of an international entry into the 18th competition which will be judged in Dunfermline on Wednesday 9th October 2017. Kevin Haggard, owner of Sunblest Foods in Santa Maria, California will put his pies up against the best Scotland has to offer.
Scottish Bakers have confirmed the judging date for the 18th World Championship Scotch Pie Awards and are proud to announce that The Lord Provost of the City of Edinburgh will join the judging panel for the first time.
